The Winnipeg Jets have agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with forward Jeff Malott. His deal will carry an average-annual value of $780,000.

Malott, 24, made his professional debut this past season with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose, leading the team with 14 goals — tied for second among AHL rookies — while adding six assists for 20 points in 34 games.
The native of Burlington, Ont., previously spent a four-year college career at Cornell University where he posted 24 goals and 29 assists in 114 games.
