Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Jordie Benn is making his debut with the franchise Saturday night against the Vancouver Canucks.
Benn left a September pre-season game against the Montreal Canadiens with a groin injury and hasn't played this season.
Defenceman T.J. Brodie, who has yet to miss a game this season as a staple in Toronto's lineup, will not play. The reason for Brodie's absence was not immediately clear at the time of puck drop. The 32-year-old did take part in warmups.
Benn joined the Maple Leafs on a one-year, $750,000 contract back in July.
