Los Angeles Kings centre Pierre-Luc Dubois was injured after sliding into the net on a scoring chance against the Florida Panthers.
The play happened with just under seven minutes remaining in the third as Dubois was skating full speed into the Panthers zone. The six-foot-four centre cut across the Panthers' crease but lost an edge and slid into the post. The net did not dislodge upon impact and Dubois was in visible discomfort — unable to put any weight on his left leg — as he left the ice and went down the hallway to the Kings dressing room.
The Kings acquired Dubois from the Winnipeg Jets over the summer in a sign-and-trade that saw the 25-year-old ink an eight-year, $68-million contract. Dubois has four goals and eight points in 15 games with the Kings this season.
