The Seattle Kraken signed veteran defenceman Brian Dumoulin to a two-year, $6.3 million contract on Saturday.
Dumoulin spent over a decade with the Pittsburgh Penguins and recorded a career-high 25 points (one goal, 24 assists) this past season.
The 31-year-old from Biddeford, Maine, was drafted in the second round (51st overall) by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2009 but never played with the franchise. He was traded to the Penguins along with Brandon Sutter and a first-round pick for Jordan Staal in June 2012.
Dumoulin registered 139 points (19 goals, 120 assists) in 546 career games with the Penguins and won back-to-back Stanley Cup titles in 2016 and 2017.
