Kraken sign forward Marcus Johansson to one-year, $1.5M deal

Watch Minnesota Wild forward Marcus Johansson time a perfect shot past Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick in NHL action.

The Seattle Kraken have inked centreman Marcus Johansson to a one-year deal worth $1.5 million, the team announced Friday.

Johansson, at one time a 20-goal-scorer for the Washington Capitals, has been on a tumultuous run since leaving D.C. Over the past four seasons, the 30-year-old has suited up for four different clubs, spending time with the New Jersey Devils, Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins and Minnesota Wild.

He posted six goals and 14 points for the Wild in 2020-21.

The Landskrona, Sweden's best campaign came back in 2016-16, a 24-goal, 58-point performance that earned him a few Selke and Lady Byng votes.

Through 684 career NHL games, Johansson has 378 total points to his name.
