Seattle Kraken forward Andre Burakovsky left Saturday's game against the New York Rangers after suffering an undisclosed injury.
Burakovsky, 28, headed down the tunnel after being shoved by Rangers defenceman Jacob Trouba into the boards.
Trouba received a minor penalty for boarding on the play.
After the game, which the Rangers won 4-1, Kraken coach Dave Hakstol said he didn't think Burakovsky's injury looked short-term and that they would evaluate further Sunday.
On the hit itself Hakstol said: "He finished the check. I haven't looked all that close at it. You might be able to make an argument that it was a little bit late or not. I'm not gonna go that way, I didn't see anything egregious on it. Do I like it? No. We lost a player out of it. You know, that's where we're at."
Burakovsky missed a significant portion of the 2022-23 season after he tore his groin muscle and suffered rehabilitation setbacks.
