The Columbus Blue Jackets have been one of the feel-good stories in the NHL this season, and their chase for a playoff spot appears to have caught the eye of one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
Sitting out Thursday's game against the Denver Nuggets due to a nagging groin injury, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James donned a Stadium Series Blue Jackets jersey as part of his sideline outfit.
Thanks to the outfit choice, James, an Ohio native, earned some votes in the GOAT debate from the team in his home state.
The Blue Jackets currently sit three points behind the Montreal Canadiens for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.
Maybe now that they know they have James in their corner, that will give them extra motivation to get back to the post-season for the first time since the 2019-20 season.
