        Tampa head coach Jon Cooper talks about how impressed he was with Luke Schenn's attitude and physical play, after basically being off for 5 months, and being stuck in the bubble and not in the lineup until this moment.

        Luke Schenn has extended his stay with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

        The defenceman signed a one-year, $800,000 contract to remain with the team Friday at the start of free agency.

        Schenn joined the Lightning as a free agent last July 1, inking a one-year, $700,000 deal. The 30-year-old saw action in 25 regular-season games and an additional 11 playoff contests and his performance was enough to earn a $100,000 raise.

        The Lightning have restricted free agent blue-liners Mikhail Sergachev and Erik Cernak to re-sign this off-season.
