The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed defenceman Trevor Carrick to a one-year, two-way contract, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced Monday. The contract is worth $750,000 at the NHL level.
Last season, Carrick skated in 61 games with the San Diego Gulls, the AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, where he notched 10 goals and 30 assists — second in defenceman scoring for the Gulls. He has spent the past two seasons with the Gulls, where he played in 100 regular season games and registered 11 goals and 42 points.
The 28-year-old has played in seven NHL games across four seasons for the Carolina Hurricanes and San Jose Sharks since being selected 115th overall by the Hurricanes in the 2012 NHL Draft.
