Alex Killorn missed most of the Stanley Cup Final due to a broken fibula, he revealed after the Tampa Bay Lightning‘s Cup-clinching win in Game 5.
Killorn, who didn’t suit up after Game 1 against the Montreal Canadiens when he blocked a Jeff Petry shot, was considered doubtful prior to Wednesday’s pre-game warmups but was ultimately ruled out.
Killorn went on to say he underwent surgery last week to have a rod inserted into his leg and hoped to play if the series required a Game 6 or 7.
The 31-year-old had eight goals and 17 points in 19 post-season games for the Lightning.
