The Tampa Bay Lightning will head into the post-season without one of their trade deadline additions.
Forward Oliver Bjorkstrand is out week-to-week with a lower-body injury, the team announced Sunday.
Bjorkstrand was acquired by Tampa Bay from the Seattle Kraken on March 6, and has totalled five goals and nine points in 18 games with his new team.
It is unclear when the injury occurred, as the 30-year-old winger played 14:45 — right around his season average with the Lighting — during Friday's loss to the Detroit Red Wings.
“He’s really grown into his role with us, and hopefully we’ll have him back for playoffs at some point," Tampa Bay head coach Jon Cooper said Sunday, according to team reporter Benjamin Pierce.
In 79 total games this season, the one-time all-star has 21 goals and 46 points. It is the fifth straight season and seventh in his career that he has reached the 20-goal plateau.
The Lightning enter Saturday with a 45-26-8 record, which has them four back of the Toronto Maple Leafs for the Atlantic Division lead and tied with the Florida Panthers for second with three games to play.
