Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos is currently dealing with a lower-body injury and is day-to-day, according to the team.
As a result, the 33-year-old centre will miss Tuesday's contest against the New Jersey Devils.
Stamkos sustained the injury during the first period of his team's game against the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday night.
After getting tangled up along the boards with Blackhawks forward Joey Anderson, Stamkos awkwardly fell to the ice. As he got up, it appeared he potentially tweaked something in his left leg as he was visibly in discomfort and was slow to get to the bench.
Stamkos ultimately headed to the Lightning's locker room and missed the remainder of the game after being ruled out by the team.
The Markham, Ont. native has 27 goals and 66 points in 65 games this season.
