Elias Lindholm isn't heading out of Calgary just yet.
"I’ve been pretty clear I’m willing to stay, that’s about it," Lindholm told reporters Wednesday at the Calgary Flames' annual golf tournament.
Lindholm, Noah Hanifin, Mikael Backlund and a number of other Flames players are all entering the final year of their contracts and all remain unsigned and on Calgary’s roster.
“We’ll see what happens,” Lindholm told reporters at the end of last season when asked if he wanted to re-sign with the Flames. “I’ve got one more year, and that’s all I can say.”
Lindholm said that after GM Brad Treliving left the team and before coach Darryl Sutter was fired.
The 28-year-old recorded 22 goals and 64 points last season. He set career highs during 2021-22 with 42 goals and 82 points.
Lindholm is entering his sixth season with the Flames after he was acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes on June 23, 2018.
