The Kings have beefed up their blue line after losing Matt Roy to free agency.
Los Angeles and defenceman Joel Edmundson have agreed to a four-year, $15.2 million contract, worth $3.8 AAV, Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli reported.
Edmundson, 31, was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs from the Washington Capitals at the deadline last season.
In nine games with Toronto, the defensive defenceman didn't pick up any points but laid down 21 hits. He did pick up one assist in the Maple Leafs' seven-game series against the Boston Bruins in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Over the course of his nine-year NHL career, he has spent time with the St. Louis Blues, Carolina Hurricanes, Montreal Canadiens, Washington Capitals and the Maple Leafs.
