The Los Angeles Kings have signed defenceman Reilly Walsh to a one-year, two-way deal with an annual cap hit of $775,000, the team announced on Monday.
The five-foot-11, right-handed blueliner spent the 2023-2024 season with the Providence Bruins, the AHL affiliate to Boston, where he recorded nine goals and 19 assists for 28 points across 60 games.
The 25-year-old, Framingham, Mass. native was originally drafted in the third round of the 2017 NHL draft to the New Jersey Devils. He joined their minor league squad at the beginning of the 2020-2021 campaign. Over the next three seasons in their farm system, Walsh would tally 99 points through 174 games. He had a career-best 43 points in 70 games in 2021-22, the same year he made his NHL debut with New Jersey.
After getting drafted, Walsh would turn to the NCAA route as he suited up for Harvard for three years from 2017-2020, netting 78 points in 96 games.
