The Buffalo Sabres wore 'Love for 3' T-shirts prior to their game in Washington against the Capitals on Tuesday, less than 24 hours after the frightening scene involving Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin in Cincinnati.
Hamlin, who wears the No. 3, was in critical condition after the Bills say his heart stopped following a tackle during the Monday Night Football game, which was indefinitely postponed.
The Capitals held a moment of silence before opening faceoff of the hockey game.
The Sabres also had posters paying tribute to Hamlin on their bench for warmups before the game, while fans showed their support in the stands.
The Sabres, who did not speak to reporters after the morning skate, and Bills both are owned by Terry and Kim Pegula.
