The Colorado Avalanche are leaving a few key players at home as they leave for their last games of the season.
Coach Jared Bednar told reporters on Friday that Cale Makar, Nathan MacKinnon would not be making the trip to California.
The Avalanche are not just resting their highest-paid players either, leaving behind Ross Colton, Ryan Lindgren (upper body), Josh Manson (upper body) and Jonathan Drouin (upper body).
Asked ahead of the Avs' game versus the Canucks, which MacKinnon sat out after appearing in 209 straight games, whether the team's leading scorer was being rested, Bednar said, “he's dealing with something, too. You get to this point in the year, all these guys are dealing with something."
The Avalanche are in Los Angeles on Saturday before wrapping their season up on Sunday in Anaheim.
