Colorado Avalanche defenceman Cale Makar, Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander, and Montreal Canadiens winger Patrik Laine were named the NHL's three stars of the week on Monday.
Makar had eight points (two goals, six assists) in four games, recording two points or more in his last three games.
The 26-year-old Makar leads all defencemen in goals, assists, points, power-play goals, power-play points and game-winning goals this season.
Nylander scored in all three games this past week, totalling five goals and two assists. He is second in the league with 23 goals this season.
Laine also scored in all three of his games this week, totalling five goals overall. He registered his 11th career hat trick on Dec. 17.
His first eight goals in nine games this season have all been scored on the power play, making him the fifth NHL player (since 1933-34) to record his first eight with a franchise while on the man-advantage.
