As the Toronto Maple Leafs look for the first win of their second-round series with the Florida Panthers, it appears head coach Sheldon Keefe is making some changes ahead of Sunday night’s Game 3 matchup.
Returning to the lineup are defenders Justin Holl and Erik Gustafsson, who have yet to play in the Round 2 series. Holl last played in Game 5 of Toronto’s first-round bout with the Tampa Bay Lightning, before being removed from the lineup for the series clincher. Gustafsson entered the Maple Leafs’ lineup for the final game of that series, as Keefe opted for an 11-7 formation (11 forwards and seven defenceman), rather than the usual 12-6 setup.
The Maple Leafs are going with the 11-7 formation for Game 3 against Florida as well.
Timothy Liljegren will come out of the lineup for Holl, while Matthew Knies has been ruled out due to a concussion suffered during a collision with Sam Bennett in Game 2. Keefe said prior to Game 3 that Knies is likely out for the remainder of the series.
The Panthers are currently up 2-0 in the series, having won both games in Toronto.
