The Toronto Maple Leafs avoided a major injury scare on Friday.
Two-time Rocket Richard winner Auston Matthews blocked a shot at practice before leaving the ice in noticeable pain.
Following the skate, Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe said Matthews was "fine."
A year removed from scoring 60 goals, Matthews is off to a slow start by his standards. The 25-year-old has eight goals through 18 games.
However, Matthews did score in Toronto's 3-2 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils Thursday night.
The Maple Leafs are currently second in the Atlantic Division with 22 points and a 9-5-4 record.
Keefe also announced Matt Murray will start when the Maple Leafs take on the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday.
