Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews records career point No. 500 vs. Blues

Watch as Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews becomes the fastest player in franchise history to reach 500 points, picking up a secondary assist on a booming slapshot goal from William Nylander against the St. Louis Blues.

Toronto Maple Leafs star forward Auston Matthews recorded his 500th career NHL point on Tuesday night against the St. Louis Blues

Heading into the matchup with 499 points, he hit the milestone with an assist on William Nylander's second-period goal to cut the Blues' lead to 3-2.

Matthews, 25, was drafted by the Leafs first overall back in 2016. Over the course of seven seasons, he's appeared in 445 games.

Matthews is the fastest Maple Leaf to hit the 500-point mark.

Prior to Tuesday's game, Matthews had recorded 18 goals and 24 assists for 42 points in 37 games this season.
