The Toronto Maple Leafs won't have defenceman Jake McCabe in the lineup against the Nashville Predators.
McCabe participated in practice Tuesday and said he was fine after speaking with reporters.
Head coach Craig Berube said the defenceman was not feeling good enough to play, which led to the team deciding to hold him out for another game.
The Maple Leafs have been cautious with McCabe, who took a slapshot to the side of the head during Saturday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The 31-year-old was held out of Monday's game against the Chicago Blackhawks for precautionary reasons. The veteran defenceman has five assists in 23 games for the Maple Leafs this season.
This will lead to the team having to juggle the defensive pairing and likely revert back to the lineup from Monday, with Oliver Ekman-Larsson moving to play with Chris Tanev and Phillippe Myers getting the assignment with Morgan Rielly.
Conor Timmins was slated to be a scratch in this game but will likely play alongside Simon Benoit.
