Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov left Saturday's game against the Boston Bruins with a knee injury.
Samsonov did not come out to the ice for the third period after making 13 saves on 14 shots allowing a goal on a penalty shot by Brad Marchand. After game, head coach Sheldon Keefe told reporters that Samsonov was injured during the penalty shot and had no update on his condition.
The team had no update on Samsonov who was replaced by Erik Kallgren in net. The Leafs backup was slated to start in the second half of the team's back-to-back against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday and the team was unsure if Samsonov will accompany them on the road trip. .
Samsonov has a 5-2 record in seven games this season posting a 2.30 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage. The team has been without Matt Murray who was placed on long-term injured reserve back on Oct. 16 with an adductor injury.
