Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Martin Jones cleared waivers Monday, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports.
Toronto had signed Jones to a one-year, $875,000 contract on Aug. 9 to provide the team with some depth and experience in goal.
Jones posted a 27-13-3 record, 2.95 goals-against average and .887 save percentage in 48 games with the Seattle Kraken last season.
The 33-year-old from North Vancouver, B.C., holds a career 225-163-35 record, 2.70 GAA and .905 save percentage over 10 seasons with the Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks, Philadelphia Flyers and Kraken. He won the Stanley Cup with the Kings in 2014.
Defencemen Simon Benoit, William Lagesson and Maxime Lajoie plus forwards Kyle Clifford and Dylan Gambrell also cleared waivers.
