Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies left Thursday's game against the Boston Bruins after colliding with Brad Marchand midway through the first period.
The hit was away from the puck in the Boston zone, and there was no penalty on the play. Knies was slow to get up and skated off slowly under his own power to head to the locker room.
After the team's loss, Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe said there was no update on Knies.
The rookie winger has 11 goals and 15 assists in 61 games this season.
A second-round pick in 2021, Knies joined the Leafs late last season after his Minnesota team lost in the NCAA final.
Knies was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award as NCAA player of the year.
