The Toronto Maple Leafs will continue to play without star defenceman Morgan Rielly and top-line forward Mitch Marner when they face the Florida Panthers on Monday night, sticking with the lineup that won 3-0 in Buffalo.
Head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed his lineup at the morning skate, including the fact that Ilya Samsonov would get the start in goal, coming off a 34-save shutout of the Sabres on Saturday.
Rielly, who has missed the last three games with an upper-body injury, did skate for an extended period on Monday during the team's optional skate.
Marner is scheduled to sit out an 11th straight game Monday. He'll practise again Tuesday with an eye toward returning in Wednesday's game against Tampa Bay.
Defencemen Timothy Liljegren (upper body) and Joel Edmundson (undisclosed) are both week-to-week and expected to return before the regular season concludes on April 17. Forward Calle Järnkrok is not expected to return from a hand injury until next week.
Centre Auston Matthews, the league's leading goal scorer, will be looking to add to his total after scoring his 60th on Saturday. He needs four more goals to tie the mark hit by the Oilers' Connor McDavid last season, which was one shy of the highest total since Alex Ovechkin hit 65 in 2007-08.
Monday's game vs. Florida can be seen at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+. The Panthers (47-22-5) are two points back of the Atlantic Division-leading Bruins heading into the game, while the Leafs (42-22-9) are six points back of Florida with 93 and in third place.
