Toronto Maple Leafs winger Mitch Marner is among the three finalists for the Frank J. Selke Award as top defensive forward, the NHL announced Tuesday.
Marner, 25, was nominated along with five-time winner Patrice Bergeron of the Boston Bruins and Nico Hischier of the New Jersey Devils. Marner, whose Leafs moved on to the second round for the first time since 2004, finished the regular season with 30 goals and 69 assists for 99 points and a plus-18 in 80 games.
Bergeron, whose Bruins were eliminated by the Florida Panthers in the first round after a record-setting regular season, won the award last year. The only other Maple Leaf to win the award was Doug Gilmour, in 1992-93.
Also announced Tuesday, Anze Kopitar of the Los Angeles Kings, Jack Hughes of the New Jersey Devils and Brayden Point were nominated for the Lady Byng for most sportsmanlike.
Kopitar, 35, whose Kings were eliminated by the Edmonton Oilers in the first round, is the only previous winner of the three, having won in 2015-16. He finished the 2022-23 season with four minutes in penalties to go along with 28 goals and 46 assists for 74 points in 82 games.
Both awards are voted on by the Professional Hockey Writers Association after the end of the regular season.
