The Maple Leafs could be getting some reinforcements as they look to snap a two-game skid.
Toronto forward Max Domi is a possibility to return to game action for Tuesday's matchup against the New Jersey Devils, head coach Craig Berube told reporters after practice on Monday.
Domi was placed on the injured reserve on Nov. 16 when he suffered a lower-body injury in a 4-3 overtime win against the Edmonton Oilers. He has missed the team's last eight games, with the Leafs going 5-3 in his absence.
The 29-year-old has been skating with the team in recent days and has been participating in practice as they continue to ramp up his workload in preparation for a return to action.
In his limited action this season, Domi has yet to find the back of the net but has six assists in 19 games. He had nine goals and 38 assists in the 2023-24 season, his first in Toronto.
The Maple Leafs (16-9-2) take on former head coach Sheldon Keefe and the Devils (18-10-2) on Tuesday night.
