With the Toronto Maple Leafs' injury list growing, could the team shift Mitch Marner to centre?
Don't rule it out.
Coach Craig Berube said he has discussed the possibility with the usual winger.
"I talked to Mitch the other day about it, actually," Berube told reporters on Tuesday, per Terry Koshan of Postmedia.
"He said, ‘No problem, whatever you want.’ He's smart enough, for sure."
Auston Matthews, Calle Jarnkrok and David Kampf are sidelined with injuries, while Max Domi has been out of practices while battling an undisclosed ailment.
The Leafs recalled young centre Fraser Minten from the AHL Marlies on Tuesday.
The Leafs have experimented with William Nylander at centre over the past two pre-seasons, but ultimately decided to keep him on the wing.
Marner leads the team with 24 points (six goals, 18 assists) in 19 games this season.
