Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Matt Murray will not return to action Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks, head coach Sheldon Keefe said Friday.
Keefe added he has not yet determined who will start.
The 28-year-old Murray was placed on long-term injured reserve back on Oct. 16 with an adductor injury, but has since returned to practising with the team.
In one start this season, Murray, who the Maple Leafs acquired from the Ottawa Senators in the off-season, allowed four goals on 23 shots.
Toronto is also without netminder Ilya Samsonov, who left last Saturday's game against the Boston Bruins after hurting his knee during a penalty shot attempt. Keefe has since said Samsonov is considered week-to-week.
In both Murray and Samsonov's absence, Erik Kallgren has assumed starting goalie duties. The Maple Leafs also signed goaltender Keith Petruzzelli to an NHL deal to back up Kallgren earlier this week.
In six appearances this season entering Friday's game, Kallgren had a .890 save percentage. He then allowed three goals on 22 shots in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
