Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Foligno left Monday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens with an upper-body injury.
Foligno was injured late in the second period, appearing to tweak something while stopping in front of the Canadiens’ net. He went to the locker room and did not return for the third period.
The 33-year-old was acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets on April 11 for a first-round pick in the 2021 NHL draft and a fourth-round selection in 2022. In four games since joining Toronto, the Sudbury, Ont., native has four assists.
