The Toronto Maple Leafs recalled forward Bobby McMann from the AHL's Toronto Marlies and placed defenceman T.J. Brodie on injured reserve on Tuesday.
The Leafs also announced that star forward Auston Matthews missed practice because of a maintenance day and will be a game-time decision for Wednesday's game against Nashville.
Brodie did not play in the Leafs' last game on Sunday in Philadelphia. He has two goals and six assists in 28 games this season.
The 12-year-vet missed nearly a month earlier this season with an oblique injury. He returned in early December.
McMann has eight goals and seven assists in 17 games with the Marlies this season. He won the most recent AHL Player of the Week award after tallying three goals and six points in three games last week.
An undrafted native of Wainwright, Alta., McMann, 26, has not played an NHL game.
The Leafs return to action on Wednesday against the visiting Predators. Watch the game on Sportsnet or SN NOW at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT.
