The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed forward Nick Robertson on their long-term injured reserve, the team announced Thursday.
The move means he is expected to miss a minimum of 10 games and 24 days.
Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe told reporters earlier this week that Robertson will be sidelined roughly four weeks.
Robertson suffered a knee injury in his regular-season debut during the team’s 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators on the weekend after a hit from Drake Batherson.
The 19-year-old scored his first NHL goal in the playoffs last summer and appeared in four of the team’s five post-season games against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
