Ilya Samsonov will be between the pipes when the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Dallas Stars on Wednesday night.
Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed Samsonov as the starting goaltender to reporters following the morning skate.
Samsonov has posted a 1.83 goals-against average and .926 save percentage over his past five appearances after a tumultuous first half of the season, which saw him waived by the team and sent down to the minors.
He made 26 saves during Monday's 3-2 loss to the New York Islanders in the team's first game following the All-Star break.
The 26-year-old Russian holds an 8-4-6 record, 3.35 GAA and .879 save percentage over 20 games this season.
