Four teams will head to Sweden for the next edition of the NHL's Global Series this November.
The Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, Detroit Red Wings and Minnesota Wild compete in two regular season games each in Stockholm from Nov. 16-19.
The trip will mark the first time the Maple Leafs will play regular-season games outside North America, making them the 26th NHL franchise to do so. It will be the second time for the Red Wings and Wild and the third for the Senators.
Stockholm has hosted more NHL games than any other city outside North America. Sweden has hosted 13 games — with 12 at Stockholm's Ericsson Globe. The last time the NHL travelled to Sweden for games was in November of 2019 when the Tampa Bay Lightning and Buffalo Sabres played two games against each other.
The NHL had previously announced that the Arizona Coyotes and Los Angeles Kings will play two pre-season games in Australia this September at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.
