The Toronto Maple Leafs signed free agent Jordie Benn to a one-year, $750,000 contract on Thursday.

Benn will provide a left-handed shot to the Toronto blue line that will look to help out new goaltenders Matt Murray and Ilya Samsonov.

The now former Minnesota Wild defenceman played 39 games during the 2021-22 season, registering one goal and seven assists with a plus-one rating.

Benn, 34, has recorded 25 goals and 110 assists with a plus-20 rating during his 10-year NHL career.
