The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed goaltender Vyacheslav Peksa to a three-year, entry-level contract that will begin in the 2023-24 season, the team announced Monday.
The three-year deal will carry an average annual value of $851,660.
Peksa, 20, played for Bars Kazan of the VHL (All-Russian Hockey League) where he posted a 13-19-6 record in 40 games. He finished the season with a 2.34 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage.
The Magnitogorsk, Russia native, was originally drafted by Toronto in the sixth round (185th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft.
Toronto had three different goalies see meaningful playing time this season, as Ilya Samsonov, Matt Murray and Joseph Woll all saw time in the Maple Leafs' crease.
