The Toronto Maple Leafs signed forward Ryan Reaves to a three-year, $4.05-million contract on Saturday.
The 35-year-old is expected to provide sandpaper to a Maple Leafs lineup that was pushed around, particularly against the Florida Panthers during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
His AAV will be $1.35 million.
Reaves collected five goals and 15 points in 73 games last season, split between the New York Rangers and Minnesota Wild. Notably, the bulky six-foot-two, 225-pound enforcer tallied only 43 PIMs, and hasn't exceeded 100 PIMs since 2017-18.
Over 828 career games, the Brandon, Man., native has collected 59 goals and 70 assists, good for 129 points. Reaves also ranks eighth among active NHLers in PIMs, with 1,023 over the course of his career.
