The Toronto Maple Leafs and defenceman Timothy Liljegren have agreed to terms on a two-year, $2.8-million contract. The contract carries a $1.4 million average annual value.
Liljegren was due to become a restricted free agent next month.
The 23-year-old appeared in 61 games this season, scoring five goals and 23 points.
He also has 148 AHL games on his résumé, winning the Calder Cup championship in 2018.
The Maple Leafs originally selected Liljegren 17th overall in the 2017 NHL Draft.
