Toronto Maple Leafs power forward Wayne Simmonds could miss six weeks after getting hurt during the team’s dominating 5-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday, per Sportsnet‘s Elliotte Friedman.
Simmonds, who scored twice in the game, left in the third period after taking a clearance attempt off his hand.
The 32-year-old from Scarborough, Ont., has five goals in 12 games with the Leafs, his first season with his hometown club after signing a $1.5-million deal in the off-season.
