Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Timothy Liljegren suffered an upper-body injury in Thursday night's game vs. the New York Rangers and will be assessed on Friday, per head coach Sheldon Keefe.
Liljegren left the contest late in the second period and did not return. He was seen leaving Madison Square Garden with his right hand wrapped up.
The 23-year-old has appeared in 19 games for the Maple Leafs this season and has two goals and three assists.
Toronto ended up losing the game 3-1, snapping a four-game win streak in the process.
