Joseph Woll participated fully in practice on Friday, after the Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender said he had been dealing with groin tightness.
Speaking to reporters for the first time since being sidelined, Woll did not provide an update Friday on when he thinks he'll be able to play.
"I'm feeling better now, so I'm just focused on coming back and helping this team," Woll said. "Just really trying to take it day-by-day and stack good days on top of each other. Excited to get back."
Woll faced shots from teammates at practice Wednesday for the first time since hitting the injured reserve last week.
Leafs coach Craig Berube is taking a patient approach with his goaltender but is optimistic about what he sees.
"Seems like he’s really heading in the right direction," Berube said. "Sooner than later (he should be able to play), I would think, but you have to take it day-by-day still. I think it’s important here after practice to see where he’s at. I haven't talk to him yet so we'll figure that out."
