The Detroit Red Wings have signed veteran defenceman Mark Pysyk to a one-year, $850,000 deal, the club announced Thursday.
The 30-year-old Pysyk had three goals and nine assists in 68 games with the Buffalo Sabres last season.
The native of Sherwood Park, Alta., has 28 goals and 76 assists in 521 career NHL games with the Sabres, Dallas Stars and Florida Panthers.
The Sabres picked Pysyk 23rd overall in the 2010 NHL Draft.
