Minnesota Wild star forward Kirill Kaprizov will be back in the lineup for Monday's game against the Winnipeg Jets.
Kaprizov briefly left Thursday night’s game against Edmonton after a collision with Oilers forward Drake Caggiula. The play happened in the second period when the 27-year-old was skating through the neutral zone and was caught awkwardly by Caggiula. He eventually returned and finished the game.
As a result, the Russian was not available for Saturday's clash against the Calgary Flames with a lower-body injury, and was listed as day-to-day after an MRI revealed no serious damage.
Kaprizov is currently second in the NHL with 34 points (13 goals, 21 assists) in 19 games, one point behind Colorado Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon. The forward also has a franchise-record 11-game road point streak (24 points) for the Wild, who sit second in the Central Division.
Unfortunately for the Wild, centre Marat Khusnutdinov will miss his second-straight game with a lower-body injury.
The 22-year-old was injured blocking a shot from Evan Bouchard in the third period in the same game against the Oilers.
Khusnutdinov has two assists in 19 games. The fellow Russian was selected by the Wild in the second round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft with the 37th pick overall.
