Colorado Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri will be out for "some time," according to coach Jared Bednar, but the team believes he should be back for playoffs.

Kadri did not play for the Avalanche in the team's 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday due to an upper-body injury.

The 31-year-old, a pending unrestricted free agent, is having a career-best season with 26 goals and 57 assists in 65 games for the Avalanche.

Colorado already has several regulars out the lineup, including Gabriel Landeskog, Samuel Girard and Bowen Byram.
