Chris Tierney is headed to New Jersey.
The Canadian free agent signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 at the NHL level and $400,000 at the AHL level with the Devils on Friday.
Tierney spent the 2022-23 NHL season playing for the Florida Panthers and the Montreal Canadiens. In 36 games with the two teams, the 29-year-old centre scored three goals and made seven assists.
First selected 55th overall in the 2012 NHL Draft by the Sharks, Tierney also skated in San Jose and Ottawa. Over nine years in the NHL, the native of Keswick, Ont., has racked up 236 points (76 goals, 160 assists).
