The New Jersey Devils have signed two more players to professional tryout agreements.
Forward Kevin Labanc and defenceman Andy Welinski have signed PTOs, Devils president and general manager Tom Fitzgerald announced on Monday.
The duo joins previous PTO signings goaltender Michael Hutchinson and blueliner Jakub Zboril.
Labanc, 28, played the last eight seasons with the San Jose Sharks. Last season, he recorded two goals, seven assists and 60 shots on net across 46 regular-season appearances. San Jose selected Labanc in the sixth round, 171st overall, in the 2014 NHL Draft. The New York native's shining moment came in 2019 in a game against Vegas, where he became the first player in NHL history to record four points in one period of a Game 7.
Welinski, 31, spent last season with Iowa (three goals and seven assists in 27 games) and Charlotte (zero points in eight games) in the American Hockey League. The Minnesota native has played for San Diego, Lehigh Valley, Stockton, Hartford, Rockford and Iowa over nine seasons in the AHL, and has appeared in 46 career NHL games (one goal and five assists) with Anaheim. The Ducks selected Welinski in the third round, 83rd overall, in the 2011 draft.
The players will join the Devils when veterans report to training camp on Sept. 18.
