The weeks leading up to the 2023 NHL trade deadline stole the show and didn't leave much on the table for the last day of dealing itself.
Still, we had some notable moves on the day, and now roster are set for the playoff stretch drive.
See how the last two days unfolded with our blog below, which includes player analysis from our scout Jason Bukala, formerly of the Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators.

Nothing yet from Calgary on deadline day with less than an hour to go. Very quiet at last check.

Team has assigned Jakob Pelletier and Walker Duehr to the AHL Wranglers, however. Paper transaction to make them eligible for the AHL playoffs. #Flames
Scout's Analysis: Who is the most interesting remaining trade target?
The trade board is getting thinner and with one hour left in what's been a quiet trade deadline day, we asked our scout: Who is your most interesting trade target still standing?
Bukala's looking back to Anaheim, where John Klingberg is a pending UFA. The former Dallas Star signed a one-year deal with Anaheim as a UFA to re-establish his value, but it's been a struggle there for everyone. Just as Kulikov could be better in Pittsburgh than he was in Anaheim, Klingberg could be a real nice get for a playoff roster. He brings plenty of upside, but there is some risk as well.
Maybe that's what keeps him affordable.
Here's Klingberg's player card, developed by Bukala's Pro Hockey Group, with his scouting notes on the player included.

After a busy week, trade deadline day has been a snoozefest

2023: 4 trades officially announced
Past totals:
2022: 30

The Edmonton Oilers are probably done
Without any cap space left, and after adding Mattias Ekholm and Nick Bjugstad, we knew coming in that GM Ken Holland was probably going to be quiet today.
Sportsnet's Mark Spector said on the broadcast that Holland's media availability is scheduled to happen one hour before the deadline hits...so ya, we're thinking the Oilers are finished.

Winnipeg adds another winger, but it's not the big splash most are craving
Vladislav Namestnikov was traded from Tampa Bay to San Jose earlier this week, and now is on his way back into a playoff race with the Winnipeg Jets. Namestnikov is a depth scorer who has six goals this season after scoring 16 times between Detroit and Dallas last season. The Stars acquired Namestnikov for their playoff push last season, after which he scored three times in 15 regular season games, and once in seven playoff games.

Vancouver Canucks offload a little salary
Curtis Lazar has a $1 million AAV on a contract that runs through the 2024-25 season, and the cap-strapped Canucks were able to move him to the New Jersey Devils for a draft pick. In 45 games this season, Lazar has three goals and five points after scoring eight times in 70 games as a Boston Bruin last season.

Will the Kraken get some scoring, and PP help, in James van Riemsdyk?
Pushing for a playoff spot in Year 2 of their franchise, the Seattle Kraken have the NHL's sixth-best offence (3.49 goals per game), but are 21st with a 19.8 per cent power play.
If they buy, they could be after a scoring forward. One of their defencemen, Carson Soucy, remains on our trade candidates list.
Might James van Riemsdyk, a power play presence through his career, make sense for GM Ron Francis' crew? The rumoured return right now is a third-round pick for JvR.

— Frank Seravalli (@frank_seravalli) March 3, 2023
They're running low on assets, as we all know, but could clear enough cap space by getting #NHLDucks to take back Philippe Myers and run Klingberg salary through third-party broker.
Did you know?

The Sabres are the only team that has not made a trade on Deadline Day over the previous 2 seasons
Could the juggernaut Boston Bruins still add?
With Taylor Hall put on LTIR Thursday, the Boston Bruins have $2.8 million available to them on deadline day, but could end up having more with a further injury to Nick Foligno.
So while we look to see if the Maple Leafs or Lightning will still be active, the Bruins also still have an opportunity to add to their league-leading group.
Juggernaut #NHLBruins have been one of busiest teams adding Bertuzzi, (Orr)lov and Hathaway.
— Frank Seravalli (@frank_seravalli) March 3, 2023
Possible they add more? Few assets, but cap space - and now injuries.
Early word: Foligno may miss rest of reg season. Hall still getting eval'd for knee injury, maybe in ~4 week range.
