At last, the Stanley Cup Final matchup is set in stone.
With their win over the Dallas Stars on Sunday, the Edmonton Oilers locked up the Western Conference and booked their ticket to their first Stanley Cup Final since 2006.
Waiting for them on the other side of the ring are the Florida Panthers, battle-tested from last year's loss at the hands of the Vegas Golden Knights and thirsting for a chance at redemption.
Now hockey fans have to wait just a little while longer for the action to commence. The Stanley Cup Final is scheduled to begin on June 8, with the first matchup taking place in Florida at 8 p.m. ET.
As the two teams go back and forth between their home-ice arenas, they'll receive some graciously built-in three-day breaks — a much-needed gap as the distance between Edmonton and Sunrise will be the furthest distance between two cities in NHL history, 4,089.34 km to be exact.
