It was an especially dark day for the NHL on Tuesday as COVID-19 increasingly ran rampant throughout the league.
After the NHL postponed Calgary Flames games through Dec. 16 on Monday following six players and a staff member being placed in protocols, eight teams have reported additional COVID cases by early afternoon on Tuesday — including the Flames adding three more players. In all, 17 players were placed in protocols just on Tuesday.
Also, Tuesday’s scheduled game between the Carolina Hurricanes and Minnesota Wild was postponed due to the Hurricanes’ outbreak, and more cases and postponements could be on the horizon.
